There she was with a smile on
A delusion, illusion, hallucination
I try to see past her
But how do I do so when she is so different
What is it about her that stands out and hits me
Could it be her eyes, her face, her teeth, her smile
No, no, no, no, no, what else?
Why's it so difficult? Oh!
Sometimes it feels like she don't know
I'd hate to lose this opportunity
So how will I know that she is into me
I guess that it is fine for me to say
What I can say but I don't know if I should say
She's a mystery girl, Oh
Supernatural
She's a mystery girl, Oh
Blithe and beautiful
We would share conversation
Avoid situation, play games of flirtation
But something's unresolute
Even though it seems so absolute
After all of my hinting, I'd still be chasing her
But how would I know that she notices
Oh! How I still seek her
Oh, the feeling of charism
Overcomes, a ring of jubilance
Oh how, I wish that she could feel
What I'm feeling right now
This song I sing to her
about
This is one of my first and most successful songs, originally written for piano and vocals. I decided to arrange this for men's a cappella when I was in PLU's college a cappella group called, PLUtonic. It's a true story about me and a certain someone that I had a thing for, but had no clue what our relationship was or where we were going. I would try and try, but somehow I was just left more and more confused. She was a mystery.
